FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.

Fair to fine at first, but rain probable in westerly districts. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day :— The anti-cyclone over the Dominion has been moving slowly eastward, the centre to-day being off East Cape. A depression is advancing across the lasman Sea toward southern New Zealand. Winds, north-easterly to north-westerly; moderate to fresh generally and rising to ftflle force in places south of New Plymouth and Napier. Seas in New Zealand waters rough about Cook and Fovcaux Straits and rising south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight to moderate. Moderate to strong north to north-west, winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea, with moderate seas but wind-and sea increasing, especially in the southern poition. Still fair to fine generally at first, but soon becoming unsettled and rum developin- in the western and far southern districts of (lie .South Island and extendin ß later to most districts witli a westerly aspect. Temperatures rising. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER. Masterfon. —Bright sunshine from a cloudless sky; practically no wind. Wanganui.-‘-Fine and sunny, with a cloudless sky. Waipukurau.—A bright sunny day; warm temperature. Auckland.—Fine and sunny, with a light south-easterly wind ; emulitg mild. The barometer showed a rising tendency and registered 30.~0m. at 4 p.m. Christchurch.—Fine, with a maximum temperature of 60.4 deg. There £ Desk east-north-east breeze in the morning and an easterly breeze in the afternoon.
