STRANGE BEHAVIOUR

Dargaville Man Runs Amuck Kv Telestrapb—Brees Association. J Dargaville, March 19. Excitement prevailed at the Dargarille Magistrate’s Court this morning when a middle-aged man ran amuck. It appears that the Clerk of the Court was on bis way to the post office when he was accosted by the man, who cursed and swore at him, being apparently under the delusion that he had been summoned to appear in court. 'The clerk left him and the man proceeded to the office of the foreman of tbe borough council. There he obtained possession of a flame thrower. This be took into the street and danced round it before going to the courthouse. On arrival there he picked up a typewriter from tbe counter. and burled it to the floor, and threw an inkpot at the magistrate, Mr. Morris, who was in an adjoining room. The inkpot missed the magistrate but. the walls of the room were splashed. Mr. Morris went to the police but before they arrived tbe man went into the -roadway and removed an axe from a motor-car. This he kept swinging in .his hand until he was overcome by Sergeant Culloity and Constable Du Temple.
