MASTER PRINTERS

Annual Conference Held Delegates from all parts of New Zealand were present at the twentyninth annual conference of the Federation of Master Printers of New Zealand held in Wellington on Tuesday and Wednesday. The president. Mr. A. Dennison (Auckland), presided. In his address the president reviewed world conditions, and also political and economic affairs within the Dominion. Referring to the Government’s industrial programme he said that any of the changes contemplated would represent a serious disturbance of existing conditions in the printing industry. In combination they constituted the most formidable pro gramme that had ever been presented When the Bills incorporating the Government’s proposals were introduced they would be carefully examined by officers of the federation Any criticism that would be advanced would tie prompted by regard for the welfare of New Zealand and for the interests of the thousands of men and women employed in the industry. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—Mr. H. Harris (Dunedin), president; Mr. B. C. Jacobs (Auckland), vice-president: Mr A. Dennison (Auckland), immediate past-president: and Messrs. E. Aldridge (Auckland). H. Coull (Wei iitigton), E. Darroch (Timaru). II W Littey (Wellington), W. J Palamon tain (Wairarapa), T.- Somerville (Dunedin), J. Stout (Christchurch) and J. E. Thom (Invercargill).
