JAPANESE PROPOSAL
Air Services to Australia and New Zealand
(Received January 20, 1.1.25 p.m.)
Tokio, January 20.
It is understood that industrialists are investigating means of linking up Japan, Australia, New Zealand and other southward countries by aviation, possibly connecting with British services at Hong-Kong and Singapore, if not direct, for Hie purpose of speeding up samples and mails to keep pace with European competition. Probably aeroplanes "'ill be used as it was formerly reported that the Zeppelin project was lagging. In this connection there are continued loud complaints concerning the expensive cabling to Australia.
