EMINENT SPECIALISTS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE

He is suffering from bronchial catarr , accompanied by cardiac (heart) weakness, and his condition is causing anxiety. Eminent specialists are in attendance. The first bulletin, issued at 11 p.m. on Friday, which was the first intimation that His Majesty was seriously indisposed, stated: “The King is suffering from bronchial catarrh. It is not severe, but signs of cardiac weakness have appeared which must be regarded with some disquiet.” It was signed by Sir Frederick Willans, Sir StanleyHewett, and Lord Dawson of Penn. A bulletin issued at 4.7. p.m. yesterday and signed by Sir Maurice Cassidy, In addition to the other three specialists, stated: “The King had a few hours restful sleep. The cardiac weakness and embarrassment of circulation have slightly increased, and give cause for anxiety.” It was officially stated at 10 o’clock last night that there was no change to report in the King’s condition. At midnight he was sleeping peacefully, and there was still no change. The latest news of His Majesty’s condition is an official statement issued from Sandringham House at 12.7 p.m., which says: “In spite of a restless night the King has maintained his strength.”
