FLEET OF ZEPPELINS
“Peaceful Conquest of World”
Germany aims at “the creation of a whole ileet of airships for the peaceful conquest of the world,” says the Nazi “Angriff.” As soon as the new Zeppelin LZI29, now nearing completion at Friedrichshafen is ready, work will be begun on a sister airship immediately, for which blueprints and plans are ready.
The LZI29 is intended for North Atlantic trips to the United States, which it is hoped will take only two and a half or three days. In the future it is hoped to extend the regular Zeppelin service to the Far East via the Indian Ocean. That plans to popularise air travel and to bring it within the reach of the masses are being worked out in Germany was revealed by Director Boettcher at the congress of German aerodromes held at Essen. Air lines are to be so cheap in future that every German who intends making a journey of more than 300 miles “will travel by air as a matter of course.”
