Win For Paremata Boat Wairoa The second race for the Porirua Cup, competed for by Plimmerton and Paremata Z-class yachts, was sailed at Plitnmerton on Thursday in a strong northerly wind ami a rough sea. The race resulted in a win for the Paremata boat Wairoa, sailed by W. Pyeeroft, jun. Seven boats went away to a good start, but unfortunately Torment fouled Vanitie shortly after starting, anil through Nambie being damaged,' both boats were out of the race. The rest of the fleet, after a very heavy beat to Maori Bay, rounded the buoy in the following order: Watti, Wairoa. Marie. Corsair, Paerata. Watti gradually increased her lead, the boats remaining in the same order until the finish. Watti was disqualified for fouling a buoy, tlie results and times being as follow :—■ Wiaroa. 12.23.58 1 Marie. 12.24.30 2 Corsair, 12.37.15 3 Paerata retired after a slight accident to her gear. Watti's time was 12.21.50.
