No wonder the big English Soccer dubs can afford to pay £lO,OOO transfer fees. Over 70,000 saw Arsenal beat Sunderland at Highbury by 3 to 1. Forty years ago a Soccer match in London rarely drew more than thre« men and a dog, the Ox-ford-Cambridge match excepted. All the crowds and al] the brass were in Lancashire and Yorkshire then. Counting in other London clu'bs. over a million turned out for the opening round this season.
