Free Ambulance Travels 493 Miles
Yesterday was a particularly busy dav for the Wellington Free Ambulance. No fewer than 49 patients were conveyed by the ambulances either to their homes or to the hospital, and the fleet travelled 493 miles during the day. The cases came from as far as Pahautanui and Featherston. Calls were received from: Pahautanui, 1; Eastbourne, 1; Lower Hutt, 2; Petone, 4; Khandallah, 2; Johnsonville, 1; Silverstream, 1; Featherston, 1. The balance was made up of Wellington city and suburbs.
