“And now gloves,” said Felicity. We had been buying steadily for nearly three hours. Felicity was in extravagant mood. Early in the morning she had come running into the house. “Put down the duster,” she cried, “and come into town 1 It’s a glorious day, and I have no spring clothes. We’re going to buy 1” And so we had bought. We bought a costume, we bought a blouse, and then a scarf. We, bought a hat, we bought stockings, and of course, shoes, and there was really only the gloves and the handbag left to buy. Felicity was in a very gay mood. “I just can’t wait till I get home to try on everything,” she said, as she inspected gloves. “Everything in town is so marvellous to-day.
