Treasured by Aucklanders for Its scenic interest. Grafton Gully is not able to escape the constant changes of city life. As year follows year some new aspect appears in the varied views. The outlook from Grafton Bridge toward the harbour now includes th? comprehensive development scheme for a flats project between Whitaker Plate and St. Martin’s Lane, where extensive work on the large property bordering the gully is in progress. At the Khyber Pass Road end of the gully, commercial buildings which have hitherto been a striking red are being painted green, a condition more In keeping with the surroundings.
