Dominion Special Service. Napier, August 28. Attributed to a falling off in the totalizator and other revenue combined with a lack of public support, a loss of £314 17/11 is shown in the annual report of the president of the Napier Park Racing Club, Mr. Cecil Louisson, who proposes the appointment of a special committee to arouse greater interest in the chibs welfare. During the year £2212/12/8 was paid in Government taxes, which -were described as “constituting a serious handicap to all concerned in the sport of racing.”
