WRESTLER HOOTED
Crowd Resents Tactics
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Tliaines, August 28.
The most hostile demonstration for a long time from a Thames sporting crowd was witnessed in the King’s Theatre last night, when “Lofty” Blomfield defeated King Elliott, by two falls to' one. Elliott substituted at the last minute for Hopkins,
The crowd resented the tactics ot the winner, who freely used forearm jolts to his opponent’s head and was hooted frequently throughout the contest.
Blomfield secured a submission fall with a Boston crab in the third round, and Elliott evened with a body press in the fifth round after flying tackles, which delighted the crowd. Blomfield was annoyed and engaged in retaliatory remarks and challenges which further excited the crowd. The bout ended early in the next round, Elliott going down to more arm jabs, to a chorus of hooting from the body of the theatre.
