Japanese Naval Papers

RECOVERY BY DETECTIVES

Quebec, August 26.

Secrecy surrounds the theft of Important Japanese naval papers from Lieutenant-Commander Omae, of the Japanese Navy, who recently arrived in Canada en route from Europe to Japan. The document was recovered by detectives. Chief Detective Emil Trudel, In refusing to discuss the case, admitted that he had been thanked by Mr. 8. Kato, Japanese Minister at Ottawa. It.is understood that the papers were in a satchel and were smuggled out of a hotel shortly after Mr. Omae’s arrival.
