Brigade Makes Good Save

Hokitika, August 27.
A fire at 3 o’clock this afternoon occurred in the drapery premises of Mr. Frank Bade The outbreak started ’n the office during the temporary absence of the proprietor’s wife, who was attending a customer. The tire brigade was promptly on the scene and made a capital save, though the damage to the stock and building will amount ’o £5OO or £6OO. There is no insurance on the stock or building.
