ROYAL SHOW
Stud stock breeders and all interested in the New Zealand Royal Show to be conducted by the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society are notified by advertisement in this issue that the schedule is now available, and that copies may be obtained from kindred .societies or direct from the secretary, Mr. A. M. Retemeyer, Box 145. Napier, A special feature of this year's i,how is the generous subsidy on freights granted by the Royal Agricultural Society of New' Zealand, and includes all railway freights in excess of 200 miles from the Tomoana siding, and also steamer freights on South Island’stock. In addition the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association has decided to subsidise its members by paying freights in excess of 100 miles up to 200 miles, and exhibitors of Jersey cattle will only incur a freight charge of TOO miles, and owners of other classes of stock not exceeding 200 miles. With these generous subsidies the forthcoming Royal Show should establish a record entrv~of exhibits from outside centres. Further assistance to exhibitors is offered by the Railway Department in granting exhibitors and stockmen in charge of stock reduced fares from all parts of the Dominion. Although entries for live stock (horses, cattle, sheep and pigs) close on September 28, and all other exhibits on September 25, the" society makes a special appeal to exhibitors to forward their entries as early as possible before the closing dates, to assist the executive in providing adeauate accommodation for stock.
