NEW CITY HOTEL

Dunedin Syndicate’s Venture Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, August 26. A modern hotel, with 100 bedrooms, on one of the most central sites in the city is envisaged by a group of Dunedin business men. It is understood that proposals have been made that the site at present occupied by the Telegraph Office should be taken over as soon as the telegraph branch of the Post and Telegraph Department shifts to its headquarters in the new' post office.

Under the present plans the old building would be .demolished and in its place a large hotel on tbe most modern lines would be erected. Tentative sketch plans of the building have been drawn up, and it is stated that the cost of the proposed structure would be in tbe neighbourhood of £100,060.
