MINIATURE RIFLES
South Island Meeting

Timaru, August 4.
The South Island miniature rifle championships were held at Timarti on Saturday afternoon and evening. There Yvere large entries from all parts of the island, and there was splendid shooting. The individual championship was won by J. D. Edmonds, Sumner, after a second shoot-off with H. Barker, Sydenham. The following secured double possible: Edmonds (Sumner), Barker (Sydenham), A. R. Agnes (Timaru), W. Taylor (Pleasant Point). Seven others were one point down.
The South Island ladies’ championship was won by Miss T. Rule (Orari Bridge). Mrs. Rennie (Oaruaru) and Mrs. Harper (Christchurch) were second and third respectively. The teams’ championship was won by Glenavy. 395. Tbe team was as follows: —N. Gibson SO. C. Fleming SO. X. Fleming 80, J. Purdie 79, D. McCulloch 76. Timaru, 394, were second, and Pleasant Point, 394, third. At the annual meeting of the South Island Miniature Rifle Association Mr. W. H. Wharton (Christchurch) was elected patron, Mr. W.
