Handicaps for the 27-miles race to be held by the Wellington Athletic and Cycling Club from the Central Fire Station to the Taita Hotel and return, tomorrow, are as follow; the race will begin at 2.30 p.m.:— A. HOPE GIBBONS SHIELD
Teams For To-morrow’s Race
The first race of a series of three for the Hope Gibbons Shield will be held tomorrow. The start will be from Salek Street, Kilbirnie, at 2.30 p.m. Six teams, comprising representatives from the Petoue, Port Nicholson, and Poneke clubs will compete. The captains of the teams will draw for starting positions, the teams being dispatched at 5-minute intervals. The course will be twice around the Breaker Baycutting course, a distance of 22 miles. Several of the competitors are riders of repute: R. Ulmer, New Zealand 10-mile track champion. 0. Disley, provincial road and track champion, and T. Roe, 10 miles provincial track champion. Each of these captains his club A team.

Houston, R. Barber, B. Walsh and J. Barnsley. Emergencies: R. Loader afid A. Barnsley. Port Nicholson.—A team: 0. Disley (capt.). J. Wilson, K. Wilson, A. Sowerby and Les. Sowerby. Emergencies: Len Sowerby and W. Williams. B team: W. Sm.«hers (capt.), G. Amey, M. Seott, C. Robinson and R. Arnold. Emergencies: B. Kay and E. Millner.
Petone Club.—A team: T. Roe (capt.). P. Roe. R. Stfevens, C. Biggs and R. Triplow. Emergency: V. Hansen. B team: C. McGurk (eapt.), L. Anderson, H. Biggs, G. Hopkins and A. Cook. EmergenciesJ. Bold and W. Keighley, All riders must be registered with the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association and must wear their registered numbers. Competitors receiving outside assistance will render their team Hablg to disqualification.
