Wellington League Games The first series in the third and final round of the men’s basketball competitions, were played at the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium on Wednesday evening. An unexpected happening in the A grade was the defeat of the leading team. Y.M. Residents, bv the lowest team. Island Buy S.C. A. Results are ns follow: — A Grade. Fire Brigade 14, Maranui S.C. A S. The scorers for Fire Brigade were Dunnachie (5), Tobin (1), and Drummond (2 penalties). Raven (1 and 2 penalties) and Hoy (2) scored for Maranui. Y.M. Gym. A 19. Internal Affairs 3. Burns (7)'and Collins (2 and 1 penalty) scored for Gymnasium, and Thorp (1) and Mintoff '(1 penalty) scored for Internal Affairs. Island Bay S.C. A 12. Y.M. Residents 10. The Bay’s total were contributed by T. Reader (2 .and 2 penalties), Martin 12). and Harris fl), and for the Residents. Emmerson (2 and 1 penalty), and Oliver (2 and 1 penalty), were the scorers. B Grade. Island Bay S.C. B 11, Y.M. Boys’ Division 4. For the Bay, Martin G> and 1 penalty), Neale (2), and R. Jacobi (1 and 1 penalty) scored, and Duncan scored rite goal for Boys. Wesley 11. Island Bay S.C. C 2. Scorers for Wesley were Luke to and 1 penalty), and Tolan (2). and Perry scored the goal for the Bay. Y.M. Gym. B 10. Maranui S.C, B 0. Gym. scorers were Gotlieb (4) and Dandy N.
