Dickens Costumes
T AVENDER and old lace! This phrase describes the spirit of the costumes for “David Copperfield," the new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture produced. by David O Selznlek. Shops in long overlooked sections were can vassed to find old materials and trimmings from which to create costumes for the feminine members of the cast. After a search requiring months, enough fabric, lace and jet were gathered Io start work on the costumes. A gown made up entirely of this old materia) with heirlooms as accessories is worn by Elizabeth Allan, who portrays the role of David’s mother.
