Committee Members Fined

Members of the committee of the military ball held recently at Dannevirke wore charged to-day with selling beer and wine without being licensed to do so. The defendants were officers and non-commissioned officers. The facts briefly were that the liquor was bought by defendants and served as refreshments at the dance without charge io the patrons, who had paid for admission. It was stated that it was dispensed to popularise the dance.

The defendants pleaded guilty and were each fined £l, with costs 11/-.
