Notice of motion to amend the regulations of the Jacob Joseph scholarships was given by the chairman of the professorial board, Professor J. Rankine Brown, at last night's meeting of Hie council of Victoria University College. The purpose was to alter regulation 1. sub-clause 2, to provide that a student to be eligible "shall have attended at Victoria University College as an internal student during the last two years of his course for a master’s degree.” Professor Brown said Hint at the beginning of the session the board had had to consider whether the regulation meant tliat a student had to attend the college as an internal student or whether it included exempted students. Hunter on social psychology and industrial psychology from three guineas to two guineas. An application was received from Hie secretary of the college court of convocation for a£s grant. This the council agreed to. “There is apparently some life in Hie body now, and I think we should encourage it,” said the chairman, Mr. P. Levi.

The registrar, Mr. G. G. S. Robison, reported that he had been in touch with the other colleges concerning a conference of college council representatives. Auckland was keen on a conference being held, Canterbury had stated that it had nothing particular to bring up, and a decision had not yet been received from t'ne University of Otago.
