English County Cricket Matches WIN FOR DERBYSHIRE London, July 23. Tlie .'.cries of county cricket championship matches which was concluded to-day was responsible for tlie defeat of all the leading teams except Derbyshire. Yorkshire, at. the head of the table, were headed on tlie first innings by Nottinghamshire in the benefit match for B. Lilley at Nottingham. Larwood nlnyed a prominent part in the dismissal of the visitors for 268, and A. Staples, who carried his bat for 125, was the principal contributor to Nottingham's score of 402.

Middlesex were beaten by Kent, who won an exciting match by 5 runs after declaring their second innings closed with eight wickets down. Freeman was a source of trouble to the Middlesex batsmen, taking live for 168 in Hie first innings and six for 118 in the second. Warwickshire lost to Sussex by the wide margin of eight wickets.
