(Received July 24, 7.20 p.m.)
Mexico City, July 23,
A popular agrarian uprising forced Jlahuel Lustra, Governor of the State of Tabasco, out of office and threatened the position of Dr. Rafail Villareal, Governor of Tamaulipas. The uprising is seen as a general “cleaning out” of governors to rid tlie country of the hist traces of the power of General Calles, Mexico’s strong man for eight years until he lost the political combat with President Cardenas a month ago.
