New Cargo Route

The entrance of Hie new Huddart, Parker steamer Zealaudia into the Canadian-Australian service was celebrated at Sydney yesterday with a luncheon aboard the vessel, a large gathering of shipping representatives attending.
The Peking correspondent of the London “Daily Express” reports that the Chinese Government has decided, if possible, to secure Lord Kitchener to reorganise the Chinese army. It has invited him to come on his own terms and in bis own time.
Admiral Lord Charles Beresford. Unionist M.P. for Portsmouth, is preparing a memorandum urging the laying down of 12 dreadnoughts in 1911 and the flotation of a naval loan of £60,000,000.
Pennant Hills, 18 miles west of Sydney, has been chosen as the site for the Federal wireless station.
