’Members’ Terms of Office Expiring
NEW APPOINTMENTS NOT YET CONSIDERED
Time inexorably is making gaps in tllie Legislative Council. Two members completed their seven years’ term of appointment on July 14, and two more arte to retire on September 3. The first two are the Hon. John MacGregor ((Hugo) and the Hon. R. Moore (Canteijoury). The other two are the Hon. W. IT. Mclntyre (Nelson) and the Hon. AV. AV. Snodgrass, M.B.E. (Nclsont). 'Jfhe present strength of the Council is 'BO members, so that if neither reappointments nor new appointments are made within a few months the Council numerically will be reduced to a very unusual level. It' -appears to be certain that no decisions about new nominees will be made before the return of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance from London next, month.
