Ministerial. The Hon. A. Hamilton, .Acting-Min-ister of Finance, left AVellington last evening on a visit to Southland. It is expected that, he will return to the capital next AVednesday.

Mr. H. F. O’Lefiry, K.C.. returned to AVellington from the south yesterday morning.

Mr. AV. Goodfellow left AVellington last night for the north. Mr. James Roberts, Dunedin, arrived at AVellington yesterday morning, and left again for the south at night. Judge Jones, of the Native Land Court, was a passenger from AVellington last night for the north. Mr. C. J. Pugsley, New Zealand manager of the Southern Cross Assurance Co.. Ltd., arrived at AVellington yesterday morning from the> South Island. Mr. E. A. Sevier, general manager ter Now' Zealand of the Vacuum Oil Co., Pty., left AA’ellington last night, for’Hie South Island. The Hon. AA’. AV. Snodgrass arrived at AVellington yesterday from Nelson to attend the ,'inniml meeting of the National AVar Funds Council, of which he has been a member since its foundation.

Mr. L. B. Evans, chairman of the North Canterbury Power Board, has been appointed to represent the board at tee annual conference of the Electric Power Boards anil Supply Authorities’ Association in AA’ellington early in September. The engineer : secretar.v, Mr. A. Buckingham, will altend the secretaries and engineers’ conferences to be held at the same time, Mr. J. E. Farrell, AVellington, accompanied by Mrs. Farrell, is ti passenger by the Orient liner Orsova, due tit Sydney on July 31 from London.
