TRAMWAYMEN AT PLAY

Traffic Retain Leah Shield The annual Rugby football match for the Leah Shield was played by members of the Wellington Tramways Football Club yesterday, the traffic team beating the workshops team by three points to nil. Jackman scored for traffic with a goal from a penalty kick. The game, which was played at the Kilbirnie Recreation Ground, was, considering the inclement weather, an interesting exposition. Traffic were the holders of the trophy, which is contested every year by teams representing the two departments of the tramways.

This match having been played, the Wellington tramways team to meet representatives of the Christchurch tramways next, month will be selected in the near future.
