Addison’s Flat Report

By Telegraph.—Press Association Westport, July 13.

Supplementing the annual report to shareholders of the Addison’s Flat Gold Mining Co., Jlr. G. JI. Powell sain that although the company had been quite successful in its operations so far, having paid 30J per ceut. in dividends in the past year, it had become apparent that there was a greater amount of cement in lhe area than was originally thought It was possible to work the cement by explosives, but this was an uneconomical method. Cement had greater values than the free ground, but the cost of recovery was considerably greater. lie was confident that a machine could be made, and he felt confident in his owu ability to devise one to treat cement. When such a machine was available the millions of tons of cement in the district could be treated. In the meantime it was intended to remove the plant to Callaghan’s lead, and finances should be very buoyant, as the ground was very rich and there was work ahead for the next twenty years.
