According to a decision of the Eastbourne Borough Council al! unregistered dogs in its area will be destroyed to-mor-row week. Because of illness the chairman of tire Hutt Valley Electric Bower Board, Mr. 11. AV. Bothamley, could not attend the meeting of the board yesterday. Members expressed the hope that Mr. l>oth'amley, who is in hospital, would have a speedy recovery. Mr. A. IV. Press took the chair in his absence. The council’s approval of the Wellington Hospital Board’s intention to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for authority to borrow £19,800 for extensions to the Victoria Hospital, eye, ear, nose and throat ward, and the purchase, subject to legislative authority, of freehold property on the boards land at the corner of. Lambtoil Quay and Molesworth Street, was sought in a letter from the Hospital Board received at the meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council last night. It was decided to refer the matter back to the board to ascertain if the proposed loan would mean an increase in the rates.
