Motor Registration Forms
Sir, —I notice in this morning’s paper Mr. Batt is complaining that the registrar of motor vehicles refuses to supply number plate forms and third party forms to the Automobile Association. To my mind, the registrar’s attitude is quite correct. In my case, a few years ago, and in the case of other Automobile Club members, forjns were posted by my own insurance company, the Automobile Association, and two other insurance organisations, making four sets of forms supplied to me for registering one car. This was an absolute waste, and the same thing may happen again., because if forms are given to one organisation, they ■will have to be given to the others. I understand that the Automobile Association acts as chief agents for an insurance concern, and its employees are also insurance canvassers, so that Mr. Batt cannot reasonably complain if the registrar of motor vehicles treats the Automobile Association in the same way as other insurance companies and their agents, and refuses to supply forms to be distributed, generally.—l am. etc., COMMON SENSE Wellington, May 31.
