New Plymouth Dredge « (From '‘The Dominion,” June 6, *10X0.) The I’aritutu, the new dredge built in Scotland for the New Plymouth Harbour Board, lias sailed from Albany, 'Western Australia, for Wellington. The Clyde Quay School is 21 years of age, and during its existence has had only one headmaster, Mr. W. T. Grundy. In honour of the event the Householders 'of the district decided at the annual meeting held a few weeks ago te recognise the occasion in some suitable manner, and a committee consisting of the Hon. J. E. Jenkinson, M.L.C., and Messrs. T. Forsyth, H. Plimmer, T. Sim, G. Skinner and Alex Smith were appointed to carry the proposal through. Their efforts’will culminate this evening at the New Century Hall, when Mr. Grutidy will be made a handsome presentation and Mr. Itavid Robertson (chairman of the school committee for 21 years) will also be houwured. it St M Colonel Capper, superintendent of the Army Balloon School at South Farnborough, with two companions, made a secret trip iu the new army dirigible balloon, Bets, of 35 horse-power. They left Farnborough at 11.30 p.m. and steered by the stars to St. Paui's’(a distance of about 34 miles), which was reached nt 2.15 a.m. Having circled the cathedral, they returned at the rate of 25 miles an hour, the wind enabling them to reach Farnborough in 00 minutes.
