The Rev. Carl Tanner, who for the past two years has been curate of Sr. Matthew’s Parish. Hastings, has been appointed vicar of the parochial district of Reefton and will take over his new duties at the beginning of July. Mr. Tanner was formerly a curate of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Auckland, and is the, son of a well-known pioneer family of Hastings. Mr. D. T. McCormick, headmaster of Hastings Central School, has accepted an offer of transfer to the headmastership of the Linwood Avenue School. Christchurch, and expects to give up his present position during this term. Mr. McCormick was formerly headmaster of the Suva Boys’ Grammar School, prior to which he was headmaster of the Te Kuiti District High School.
