WOMEN’S GOLF FINAL
Miss Pamela Barton’s Record London, Muy 29. Miss Pamela Barton reached the final of the women's golf championship for the second year in succession. She was 5 up with 6 to play against her sister. Miss Mervyn Barton, but Mervyn won the next four holes be fore burying her ball <in a bunker. While playing in tlie third round, Miss Ciarrie Tiernan, the Irish girl who defeated Miss Diana Fishwick, was handicapped by a badly-blistered hand. She was beaten by Miss Mervyn Barton, tlie 19-year-old sister of Miss Pam Barton. Tlie last eight players, apart from the Scottish player, Miss Doris Park, uro all in their teens or early twenties. Results of the semi-finals were:— Miss Wanda Morgan defeated Miss Jessie Anderson, 2 and 1. Miss Pam Barton defeated her sister, Miss Mervyn Barton, 2 and 1.
