Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F. At i lie most recent meeting, of Loyal Kilbirnio Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellotvs, Bt'o. AV. J. S. Courtney, P.G., -presided. Discussion: took place as to the obtaining: of a new lodge room, and -a new proposal was put forward for inr vestigation. ; Maiigatainoka IzOdge. Loyal Mangatainoka Lodg.,- met at Pahiatua recently, Bro. K. Pryde, Noble Grand, presiding. . Discussion took place on the subject of hospital.insurance, and two delegates were elected to attend a combined meeting to consider the matter. The dance committee met to finalise arrangements for' the annual dance on Easter' Monday. Newtown Lodge. When Loyal Newtown Lodge met recently, Bro. S. Eades (P.G.) presided. The letter, from Loyal. Wellington Past Grands’ Lodge asking for nominations for ritual judges was dealt with and Bro. Jeffares was nominated. As the two following meeting nights fall on public holidays, it was found necessary to call for nominations for officers for the ensuing term, these to be held open until election night. Nominations were: —N.G., Bro. McGoggey; V.G., Bro. E. Reynard : E.S., Bro. J. Young; guardian, Bro. J. Dunn; warden. Bro. Clark; lecture master, Bro. J. J. O’Callaghan. It was decided to hold a picnic on Easter Monday (weather permitting). Rose of the A’aKey Lodge. JJro, A. E. Hewer, Noble Grand, presided over the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Rose of the Valley Lodge, Lower Hutt. Two new members were initiated, and two members from the Loyal Napier Lodge were accepted "on clearance." The large increase of members during the current term was commented upon, and it was said that keen interest is being displayed in the forthcoming ritual competition. A candidate was proposed 'for membership. Loyal Combination Lodge. Bro. F. A. Davis presided over the most recent meeting of Loyal Combination Lodge. The white and blue degrees were conferred on several members. The lodge passed a vote of thanks to Bro. Holt. P.G., for representing the lodge at the district conference and also congratulated him on having retained his seat on the district management committee. Loyal Victoria Diamond Lodge. The Noble Grand, Bro. M. Wright, presided over a well-attended meeting at Levin of the Loyal Victoria Diamond Lodge. ' Two members were initiated into the order, and five friends were proposed tor membership. It was decided to hold a "bring a friend social” on Monday next, to which the Foxton Oddfellows are invited. At the close of the meeting the card tournament to be held during the winter months was begun. Bro. 11. Mungavin (P.G.) presented a trophy for competition.
