RANGITATA ARRIVES

List of Passengers

After being delayed by westerly gales when nearing the New Zealand coast, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s motorliner Rangltata arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from London, via Kingston and the Panama Canal, and berthed at the Pipitea Wharf. She is to leave here again next Monday for Auckland to complete discharge of her London cargo and to commence her Homeward loading. The Rangltata brought the following passengers:— . Line motor-ship Port Fairy reached Port Chalmers yesterday. She is to leave there again to-morrow for Lyttelton and Bluff to complete discharge of her London cargo. NORFOLK LOADING. In ballast from T.ondon, the Federal steamer Norfolk reached Auckland yesterday morning to commence her Homeward loading. She is to leave there acain next Monday for Gisborne. Napier. Wanganui, Lyttelton and Wellington to complete. The vessel is due here on Mav 2 and is scheduled to clear this port finally on May 4 for London. Avonmouth. Cardiff, Liverpool and Glasgow. PORT PIRTE SAILS. Having completed her Homeward loading. tfie C. and D. Line steamer Port Plrie left Napier yesterday for London, via Cape Horn. KARAMEA REPORTS. In ballast from London, the Shaw. Savill motor-ship Karamea has reported by wireless that she expects, to reach Oamaru next Tuesday afternoon to commence her Homeward loading. OTIRA LEAVES LONDON. Cabled advice has been received by the Shaw. Savill Comnany that the Otira left London last Tuesday for Australia. After discharge there she will come to New Zealand to load Homeward during June. NAPIER BREAKWATER HARBOUR. The Marino Department advises that a patch recently discovered tn a position 336(1eg.. about 450vds. from the green light on the Nanier Glasgow Wharf, has been removed and now carries 19ft. at M.L.W.S. The line of beacons has been swent for 100 ft. on each side. The latest denth on the line of beacons is 19ft. M.L.W.S. RANGITOTO CHANNEL BEACON. The Marino Department advises that the rough rock beacon in Rangitoto Channel br.s been knocked over and temporarily replaced by a conical buoy with black and white horizontal strines. Further advice will he given when the beacon has been re-creeted. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain W. W, Render, late of the Narbada. has taken orer the command of the Waimarino. relieving Captain A. H. RANGITANE COMPLETING. Now completing her Homeward loading at Auckland, the New Zealand . Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitane is scheduled to clear there at 10 a.m. tomorrow for London, via the Panama Canal. NIAGARA AT SUVA. En route from Vancouver, the C.-A. liner Niagara reached Suva at 3 p.m. yesterday. She is to leave there again at 10 a.m. to-day for Auckland, where she is due next Monday, thence the following day to Sydney MAKURA LEAVES SYDNEY. Cabled advice has been received that, the Union Company’s R.M.S. Makura left Sydney yesterday for Wellington. She is due hero next Monday morning and will leave again the following afternoon for San Francisco, via Rarotonga nnd Papeete. AORANGI AT HONOLULU. Tho C.-A. liner Aorangi. en route from Sydney and Auckland, is due at Honolulu to-day nnd nt Vnncouver on April 19. WAITAKI IN PORT. To complete discharge of her Melbourne enrgo. the Union Company's Waitaki is due at Wellington this morning from Lyttelton and will berth at the King’s Wharf. She is to leave hero again to-morrow for Melbourne via Bluff. GABRIELLA LEAVES SYDNEY. Tho Union Company's Gabriella, from Newcastle, left Sydney on Wednesday for Auckland and Napier. MAUNGANUI LEAVES ’FRISCO. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Coinpanv that its R.M.S. Maunganui left San Francisco at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday for Papeete. Rarotonga, Wellington ami Sydney. She is due here on April 29. NUDDEA FOR ORDERS. The British India steamer Nuddea. which recently discharged basic slag at Auckland and New Plymouth under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company and has since been lying in New Plymouth roadstead, arrived in the stream at Wellington yesterday afternoon. She is to nwait orders here.
