BATHER’S INJURY
Thigh Gashed By Fish Sydney, February 15. D’Arcy Lorenz, aged 20, life-saver at Austiumer, had his left thigh ripped open by a shark or big fish as he shot a breaker to the beach. Despite the pain of a wound eight inches long and three inches deep, Lorenz managed to walk up the beach. He then collapsed and was taken to hospital where he underwent an operation. It is believed that Lorenz was brushed by the tin of a shark, but it is suggested that a swordfish may have been , responsible. .
