BAD WEATHER MET
Jacob Ruppert’s Voyage (Received February 15, 5.5 p.m.) Montreal, February 14. Struck by numerous squalls since she left Little America the Jacob Ruppert emerged from the tempestuous sixties to-day. Her noon position was 59 degrees 43 minutes south 173 degrees 45 minutes east, about 890 miles from Dunedin. The Bear is about 100 miles astern, according to a radio communication early to-day. The wind reached a velocity of 60 miles hourly once and it was necessary to change course to provide a lee for the two aeroplanes which are cocked on the after hatch.
