THE SHIP OF SPRING
The ship of spring has come to port, And magic treasures fill her hold; For there is wealth of emeralds, Rubies and amethysts, pearls and shining gold. . She carries precious instruments, To make sweet music all the day; . And perfumes brought from fairyland Send incense out across the sunlit bay. The ship of spring has come to port, Her hold bright jewel-treasure fills, For there is wealth of young green leaves. Tulips and violets, snow-drops, daffodils. She brings a thousand singing-birds To make sweet music all the day; And perfumes sweet of all the flowers That in the spring make hillsides rainbow-gay. z —By “Ej celsior Elf.” Hnwern.
