BEAUTY IN THE KITCHEN There Is an element of poetic justice in the thought that the housewife whose hands have become coarsened or whose bounty has become marred through housework can find most of the ingredients for a home beauty treatment in her kitchen cupboard. Coarse hands will yield to treatment by applying a- paste composed of vinegar and oatmeal. The paste should be made thin.and spread at frequent intervals. Vinegar, also, is useful for the nails\ and simplifies the task of home manicuring. As a beauty aid, the homely lemon has special virtue, since the lemon juice is an excellent remedy for blotches and disfigurements due to poorness of blood and leant of vitamin C, which lemons provide in abundance, while the lemon peel can always be relied upon to remove discolouration of the hands, and in addition is a recognised bleaching agent for whitening the skin. For removing superfluous hairs, peroxide of hydrogen and ammonia are effective, but the treatment is rather long. Use ordinary peroxide of hydrogen with fluid toilet ammonia, applying regularly. This lotion first withers the hair, and ultimately the root structure
