PHANTOMITIS Loch Ness still has its monster, of pre- ■ historic size; Grown men assert they’ve never seen such large and soulful eyes; But Taupo is more modern; 16 has an aeroplane That skims the lake on phantom wings, discernible through rain. Controlled by phantom engines that whirr in phantom flight. Till, phantom-like. It fades away and vanishes from sight. Without the smallest signal, without a dot or dash,. And not a camera-man on hand to photograph the splash.
