FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Cloudy weather, scattered rains and thunder. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending 4 p.m. to-day:— Pressure has fallen somewhat over the Now Zealand area, especially at Chatham Island. Conditions are rather disturbed, especially over the north Tasman Sea. •Forecast: Variable winds, with south-east to north-east predominating. Mainly light to moderate in force, but freshening at times on the east coast and about Cook Strait. Seas smooth to moderate generally in New Zealand waters, but rising somewhat on parts of the east coast. Light to moderate south-east to easterly winds and smooth to moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather fine on the west coast of the South Island; elsewhere cloudy to overcast at times and humid. Misty rain probable on the east coast, and fog in places. Elsewhere some scattered rains and thunder. Rainfall at “The Dominion” Building for 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Nil. Rainfall during February: .430 inches. Shade temperature at “The Dominion” Building during 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Maximum, 78 degrees; minimum, 66 degrees.
