Results of Ocean Race Ideal conditions prevailed for the .second annual ocean race for the Sterling Cup, held by the Paremata Boating Club, A. light northerly was blowing, making the course a windward and leeward one. Starting from outside the bridge, there was a beat up to a buoy off South Head, and across to another buoy off the Tea Garden Point, with a run home to the finishing line by the Paremata bridge, The Takapunas, sailing under sealed handicaps, were first away with a good start, followed shortly afterward by the 14-footers. Marie took the lead in the beat through'- the channel, followed by Wairoa, Noleen, and Adair. Marie sailed into first place, and on corrected times retained her-position by 17 seconds from the Wairoa. Detailed results are:—Marie (2.30), 1.49.46, 1; Wairoa (10.0), 1.50.3, 2; Adair (10.0), 1.51.0, 3. Also started: Kincora (11.30), Twink (0.0), Noleen (scr.). Noleen fouled Wairoa and retired. In the first class race, Impudence drew, away from the fleet to. lead all the why around the course, followed by Dois, Monica; and Josephine. Results are: Impudence, 1.33.38, 1; Lois, 1.37.27, 2; Monica, 1.37.52. 3... Also started: Josephine, Kia Ora, Kotuku, Kuini, and Vagabond.
