“Lest We Forget.”
r pi-IE recent private screening of Sound City’s “Lest We Forget,” fully confirmed all the advance reports from England. A sincere story perfectly performed by an ideal cast headed by Stewart Rome, one of England’s best exponents of aristrocratic roles, “Lest We Forget” created a profound impression on all who saw it. The plot, dealing as it does with comradeship and the happiness gained by selfeffacement in the service of others less fortunately placed, is treated with the delicacy that constitutes the highest art, and the portraits of the Englishman, the Scotchman, the Irishman and the Welshman, by Stewart Rome, George Carney, Esmond Knight and Roddy, Hughes, respectively, are un-
forgettable. Anne Yates as Captain Rayner’s daughter, is not only beautiful, but invests her very important role with a delicate charm that captivates and bears the ring of truth. Sound City gave us that classic of rural England, “Song of the Plough,” and now, with “Lest We Forget,” follow with a production that definitely takes its place as one of the artistic triumphs of the year. Their Excellencies, the GovernorGeneral and Lady Bledisloe, intend seeing “Lest We Forget” in Wellington
, Joan Crawford will next be starred by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in “No More Ladies,” adaptation of the stage comedy of the same name by A. E. Thomxs. The supporting cast has not yet been selected. Miss Crawford lias just completed “Forsaking All Others,” in which she is co-starred with Clark Gable and Robert Montgomery.
