Following upon the recent fire at the Rongotai bitumen plant, a portable plant has been transferred from Ngahauranga to Rongotai, and is now being tested preparatory to being used for the manufacture of hot-mix for the Taita Gorge Road. This work was in full progress when the fire took place. The fire called a halt, however, and it will be Monday before the work is resumed.
