Hedstrom (Fiji) Ltd., and recently placed in service at Suva, is the first steel vessel to be used i'or a trade which has previously been run with wooden craft. After completion the vessel was dismantled and shipped to Fiji in sections and assembled there. Iler hull is constructed of Dalzo rust-resisting steel owing to tile warm, tropical seas in which she will operate. She has a length of Ssft..”a breadth of 19ft.. n load draught of 6ft. Gin., and a load displacement of IS3 tons. The propelling machinery consists of a Petter atomic marine oil engine developing 115 b.h.p at 375 r.p.m.

RANGITIKI FROM LONDON

Due This Morning The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-liner Rangitiki, which left London on January 10 for Wellington, via Panama Canal and Kingston, was expected to arrive in the stream at midnight. She will berth this morning at the Pipitea Wharf, and will disembark passengers and commence discharge. Later, on Monday, the liner will sail for Auckland to complete, She will load again there, and at Tokomaru Hay. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and here sailing finally hence on March la for London, via the Panama Canal. WANGANELLA RETURNS. The Iluddart Parker liner Wanganella, which sailed last Monday on a pleasure cruise to Milford Sound, arrived back at dusk last night and anchored m the stream. She will berth at 7 a.m. this morning at the Queen’s Wharf, No. 1 south. At 3 p.m. the Wanganella will sail again on her return trip to Australia, calling at Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne. PORT HUNTER COMING. The Commonwealth and Dominion steamer Port Hunter, which reached Auckland from Liverpool on Wednesday, is to leave there again to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and New Plymouth to complete discharge. The Port Hunter, in addition io general cargo from Glasgow and Liverpool, has fiOOO cases of Jamaican oranges. She is due here next Monday morning. After completion of discharge the Port Hunter -will load at New Plymouth, Picton, Lyttelton, Bluff and Wellington, leaving Wellington for London, via Panama, on March 23. LITIOPA’S BIG CARGO. The oil-tanker Litlopa, which arrived at Lyttelton on Tuesday from Balik Papan with a cargo of bulk fuel-oil for the Shell Company, discharged 7000 tons—the largest oil cargo yet discharged at LyttelI ton from one ship. The tanker was due to sail again yesterday for Balik Papan. DALVEEN TO SAIL. The steamer Dalveen, which' since last Monday night has been discharging at Auckland her cargo of raw sugar from Java, is expected to complete unloading next Tuesday, when she will be dispatched for Newcastle and Singapore. AUSTRALIND FROM NEW YORK. Under charter to the A. and A. Line the steamer Australind is scheduled to leave New York on April 8 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia. PORT HOBART DISCHARGING. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s Motor-ship Port Hobart arrived yesterday from Auckland, and berthed at the King's Wharf. She will sail again to-morrow to complete the discharge of her London cargo at New Plymouth and Bluff. Afterward she will load at Bluff, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington, arriving here on Marell 11 to complete, and sailing finally on March 13 for London, by way of Cape Horn and Dakar. ARDENVOHR DUE. The A. and A. Line chartered motor vessel Ardenvohr, * for which the Federal Company are local agents, is due here this morning from Auckland to discharge cargo from New York. She will sail on Monday to complete discharge at Lyttelton, Dunediu and Australian ports. REMUERA TO SAIL. Thb New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera. now berthed at the Glasgow Wharf, will sail as scheduled at 7 a.m. to-morrow for London, via Pitcairn Island, the Panama Canal and Curacao. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Conqueror arrived at Auckland at midday yesterday from 1 Melbourne. She will proceed to-day en route to New York. Boston and Halifax. WAI MANA TO LOAD. The Shaw, Savill ship Waimana reports by radio that she expects to reach Oamaru to commence loading nt noon on Monday. The Waimana left Gladstone for New Zealand last Monday afternoon. She is to load also at Timaru, Bluff, Napier and Wellington. being due here to complete on March (! and sailing finally hence on March 11 for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. ELMBANK FROM OCEAN ISLAND. The motor-ship Elmbank left Ocean Island on Friday, and Suva yesterday, with 8400 tons of phosphates for discharge at Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday. MAIMOA DELAYED. The Shaw. Savill Company’s Maimoa was delayed bv rain in her loading at Picton. She left there yesterday morning to complete at Lvttelton. and will sail thence for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. on Tuesday. February 19. MATAKANA REPORTS. The Shaw Savill and Albion Company have received a radio message from the Matakana, which left Brisbane in ballast on Monday afternoon, stating that she expects to reach New Plymouth to commence loading to-morrow at 2 a.m. The vessel will load there and at Wanganui, Wellington and Auckland. She is due here next Thursday and will afterward complete at Auckland, sailing on March a for London, via the Panama Canal and Kingston. PORT FAIRY AT LONDON. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line have received cabled advice that the motor-ship Port Fairy, which left Port Chalmers on January 9 for London, via Cape Horn and Dakar, arrived at London yesterday. TURAKINA THROUGH THE CANAL.
