KhanßalUh Swimmers ' c , T . he first carnival of‘the Khandallah Swimming Club was held in the Khandallah baths under ideal conditions" before a large number, of spectators including the president, Mr. John-Murray, and Mrs. Murray. Competition in the junior events especially, was very keen. In addition to the usual races, Mr. Williams, of Island Bay, brought out a team of swimmers, Misses Staples and Gotlieb, and Messrs. Gotlieb, Roberts, and Thwaites, who gave an excellent display. Races were started efficiently by Mr. J. Lockie. Other officials were:—Judges, Messrs. R. G. Ffitch, A. E. Hefford and Ollier; referee, Mr. R. B. Gibbons; recorder. Mr. G. B. MacMorxan ; announcer, Mr. M. S. Galloway; handicappers, Messrs. MacGougan and G. M. Pottinger; stewards, Messrs. K. Green and L.
