Wellington Market Quiet PRICES MOSTLY STEADY Minor fluctuations in prices were seen on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, the'markets generally being quietly steady. Government loans were mostly firm, Rural Bonds being marked up to £lO4/15/-. The 4 per cent, stock, 1955, sold at £lO9/2/6, and the 3$ per cent, stock, 1938-52, at £lOl, Quotations for banks were mostly on the sellers’ side of the list with a slight easing. Commercial of Australia wore n penny better at 16/4, sellers holding for 16/8. New South Wales were easier on a sale at £3O/15/-, and buyers dropped their bids to £3O. New Zealand Insurance weakened to 67/4,_ sellers bb/A following payment of the dividend. Carlton Breweries were 6d. up at 03/b, no sellers. There was a slightly improved demand for miscellaneous industrial and trading issues, quotations showing little change. Wilsons Cement were firmer at 33/9, and Electrolytic Zinc, preference, sold 3d. up at 34/3. Mining shares were very quiet.
