EXHIBITION TENNIS
Australians Too Good For Angas and Pearce By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, February 7. The Australian lawn tennis players, A. A. Kay and R. W. Ewin, proved their superiority in exhibition matches to-day. Kay defeated O. Angas, South Island champion, in a match in which the Australian always had something in reserve, although Angas played well, especially in the first and last sets. Ewin beat the Otago champion, G. A. Pearce, in straight sets, and was never troubled. In the doubles the Australians outclassed Angas and Pearce, winning 6-0, 6-0. In 12 minutes the same pair beat Angas and E. G. Boddy, their excellent combination rather than individual performances being the deciding factor. Results: Kay beat Angas, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4; Ewin beat Pearce, 6-3, 6-4; Kay and Ewin beat Angas and Pearce, 6-0, 6-0; Kay and Ewin beat Angas and Boddy, 6-2, 6-2.
